My best friend of about 30 years lives in Pittsburgh, PA. Growing up, we had often talked about what it was going to be like getting married and having kids and wanting our kids to grow up together. Well life happened and I’ve been living across the country in Los Angeles for about 17 years. But wouldn’t you know, we got pregnant at the same time and had our girls 5 weeks apart from each other! We are so close that she is my daughter’s Godmother and I am Godmother to her daughter. And the girls are the best of friends! When I go home to PA for a visit, we like to do special things with our girls. This time around, we created a flower bar for a little Valentine’s Day treat!

Flower Bar
For our flower bar, we bought a variety of pink and purple flowers and set them in vases of different sizes and heights. To tie up our bouquets, I bought chiffon ribbon in different shades of pink. Wooden craft hearts and small chalkboard clips were used to write a message and clip to your bouquet with a mini clothespin. A fun and girly afternoon activity!
Table Setting
The wine glasses I found at Hobby Lobby inspired our whole color scheme. They had beautiful jewel toned glassware. We loved the the raspberry purple color and the light pink! Taressa’s friend Nikki made her those amazing pink and purple swirled acrylic glasses! They are stunning and matched perfectly. She no longer makes them, otherwise I’d link her!
Taressa had the idea of doing pressed flowers under her clear plates to keep with our floral theme. They may be one of my favorite place settings of all time! I love the dimension it gives with the wooden name cards on top. I found purple velvet fabric that I made into napkins. Candle sticks and a gorgeous centerpiece finished off our decor.
Treats
For a special treat, we created a donut tower with roses cascading down in an ombre color palette. It turned out beautiful! And it’s so easy to do. Start with a styrofoam cone and wrap it in plastic wrap. Use toothpicks to add each donut hole onto the cone, placing them as close together as possible. I added flowers in spots where there were gaps. I used toothpicks for the flowers as well.
I hope you enjoyed this and it inspires you to create your own floral bar or donut tower!!
