Supplies
All you need for this DIY is 3 supplies. You’ll need yarn – colors of your choice, a glue gun and wooden or cork letters – preferably about 4 inches tall. My tip for yarn selection is to grab colors you love that go well together and choose a variety of textures. Examples that I used were eyelash yarn, regular thin yarn, braided yarn and t-shirt fabric yarn. I chose a colorful retro look, trying to go for Anthropologie vibes. You can, of course, use only one color for the whole letter.
How To
Starting at the top of your letter, place a dot of hot glue on the BACK of your letter. This way, all of your seems are on the back. Once you glue in your first piece of yarn, wrap around the letter tightly for your desired length. Corners do get tricky. Depending on the letter as well, you may need to maneuver your yarn in zig zag patterns to fill in corner spaces.
Once your letter is fully covered, add a loop of yarn as your hook by hot glueing it to the top back of the letter. Now they are ready to hang on your tree, gift to friends and family or even add to your Christmas stockings as an initial tag! They make great gift toppers as well! Hope you will try this out for this holiday season!
