With 4 out of 5 of my best friends moving out of Los Angeles in the past 2 years, I’ve had my fair share of going away/farewell parties. People move for all sorts of reasons. We’re at the age where the next chapter in our lives have started and inevitably friends move away for career, kids or to be closer to their families. I’d like to show you a few ideas I had on bidding farewell to friends via one last hurrah!
We had a couple of friends move to Nashville, TN, home of country music! So they got ready to wear their cowboy boots and said “Yee Haw Y’all!” one last time with us in LA. I made a banner with card stock and sticker letters and printed out some cowboy boots.
The menu was southern cookout food. Our table was simple with white and blues. Fresh flowers, sweet tea and a naked red velvet cake were the highlights!
Other friends moved the day after Halloween so a Halloween themed “Boo Voyage” party was in store! I kept it classic and clean with a black and white theme. Lots of candles, marquee lights and white pumpkins!
3rd friend that left got an “Adios Bitchachos” party! HaHa! I LOVE the vibrant colors of fiesta parties! More to come on this party in another post in time for Cinco De Mayo!
Our last friend to move away requested a simple send off to just “clink” our glasses in celebration of friendship and a new job in the Big Apple. The emoji cupcakes are a nod to our girl group text chain to which we all stay in touch daily! I hope you all enjoyed these farewell parties!
